    Snakes are out in force.

With the temperatures up; even up in NC mountains itís in the 80ís. The day before yesterday I was in my 24x36 metal building and turned to exit out the main door and almost stepped on a 6í black snake. Now Iím not afraid of snakes per say but even my rural neighbors probably heard me holler as I did an awkward side gymnastics tuck and roll. Then seen it was only a black snake and I was fine as I escorted it out of the open door it had entered. Then today, as I was making my way down my backyard towards the pond; as I was about to step down and open our chain link fence gate I almost stepped on a 4í timber rattler. Luckily itís head was through the fence, as if it was beginning to exit the yard. Itís the first time in 18 years Iíve seen a timber rattler at our house. About five years ago I did have a 3í copperhead in the driveway, but never a rattler. Still makes me nervous thinking about how I almost stepped on it. I ran an grabbed my snake stick that I keep in the back of my truck and pulled the rattler out from the fence; it never rattled at all. Hereís a picture I took of it. So, when camping and riding in the mountains keep snakes in mind.
