Well, I am looking at a winch mount and a winch. I am thinking the KFI winch mount, but I am not sure what winch I am best to go with.

I am looking at a Viper Max 3,000 or 3,500 pound winch with synthetic rope, I am also looking at a warn, Vantage 3000-S Winch. I am not trying to start a debate of what is better and what brand is best. I want honest input of either one of these winches or what would you recommend?

Thank you.

Someone will be along shortly to tell you that the Warn is overpriced.
I buy Warn winches myself, after repeated failures of cheap Harbor Freight junk.
I have not experienced Viper winches but read good things about them in the forums.
Then again people also say good things about the more recent "Badlands" cheap Harbor Freight winches.

If you're on a tight budget, go with Viper.
If you want to spend the money and do the install only once, go with Warn.

I've never seen a wire winch cable snap, but I have gotten plenty of steel slivers from them.
All of my winches use synthetic rope now too.

X 2 Not fun at all
That is why I ALWAYS lay a jacket or shirt over the cable when using the winch, to dampen the cable if it breaks. Works wonders for keeping the cable tamed when it breaks.
