Thanks in advance for any advice/insights you can provide. I'm posting this for my 13-year-old son who is trying to fix (&learn in the process) his ACE 150.

The output shaft on his vehicle became unstable because the bearings seem to have broken. He can't get the shaft out of the gearcase cover even hitting it with a hammer. He would like thoughts on what he should do in terms of getting it (other than bringing it to a certified Polaris Dealer)

i am a mechanic and this is a common type of problem when dealing with faiulures. i think most dealer mechanics (young inexperienced) would not be as well trained to properly deal with this. I think a machine shop will be the best equipped and knowledgeable about this type of problem/issue. i think a machine shop will be a lot cheaper than the dealer as well.
