Hey there MissMiranda congrats on the new Ace! that snow bank looks like a good place to flex out the ace's suspension, I was curious, What is the .22 long rifle ammunition availability situation in the frozen north? Around here you cannot go into a walmart or any other store and find any .22 long rifle or any other .22 caliber ammo on the shelf. around here if you can find it, the price is $10 per 100 rounds, for the cheap stuff! What is the price in your neck of the woods?.Luge

It did great in the snow! never stopped chugging along until it got hung up on some rock hard snow lol.

Do these mirror fold in? how much did you pay for them?

Also, I am a new rider and this is my first machine. I have a question regarding shirting.. I put the shifter into the H position and find sometimes as soon as I hit the gas it is not in gear all the way and changes to the L position... do you have this problem? am i doing something wrong? Again I am very inexperienced with any off road vehicles and apologize if my terminoology is off lol

THANKS!

In my opinion, Polaris could have done a better job with the shift lever. I have 2600 miles on my 2010 RZR that I've owned since November 2010, and I still miss a shift sometimes.
I only have 60 miles on the ACE, and I've been struggling with the shifter too. It's been getting better - mostly I have trouble with R, and I'm getting pretty good with H and L.

You just have to get used to what the shifter FEELS like, going into those gears. Use the indicator on the dash as a guideline, but you will do yourself a disservice if you rely only on that. So watch the dash, but also pay attention to what it FEELS like as it moves from one position to another. You'll get it dialed in.

Also, as H is the last position in line, pull that shifter back with confidence. Assert yourself. If you use a fair bit of force and it's still popping out, your shifter might be out of adjustment. You can find the linkage and adjust it yourself, or I'm sure the dealer would be happy to do it for you.

I got them from Amazon.com, and the wife actually found them before I did. They are listed as: ATV Tek UTVMIR1 Clearview UTV Mirror with Vibration Isolator and Breakaway They do fold in and have a "breakaway feature" to them in case of contact. Of course, like anything, the "breakaway" could just end up as "broke", depending upon impact. They seem to work just fine for my application.

My shifter is still a bit stiff, but it is getting better than it was at 100 miles. Keep on working with it and see if it frees up a bit. I had a hard time getting between reverse and low at first....

Scoundrel is right. Don't be passive with the lever, assert yourself and be forceful to choose the gear you want, and confirm it on the speedo display....

Thanks so much for the advice everyone, I really do appreciate it.
I have a tendency to "go easy" on it for fear of breaking it but it sounds like I may cause more damage by doing that lol
I will try asserting more force and see how that goes

Those levers are tough, I doubt you could break it just by moving it in its slot by hand with confidence.
But grinding it and popping out of gear will damage the transmission a little at a time, that is for sure. I grit my teeth every time it happens to me.

I was just going to say "HI" my name is Miranda too lol. But then I saw your thing about the shifting and I had that problem when riding mine too. Our RZR is hard to get into gear so being forceful with it is not a problem for me, but I noticed after riding the ACE for about an hour or so that it would be in gear and when I would take off it would pop into a different gear.

Hello Miranda ! Lol. I took it out again and tried using more force and I'm still finding that it's popping into a different gear sometimes. I think I'll have the dealer have a look at it and make sure everything's ok Thanks for your input!!
