If I get one a new cage will be a must. I understand why polaris designed it that way but the aftermarket has an opportunity to drastically improve the appearance and safety of the ACE. Here are my thoughts on design for my cage... Hopefully someone is listening lol

Lower the cage as much as is reasonable to fit me (5'10") with a helmet. (Maybe 4"??)

Harness bar

Lean the a-pillars back

Widen the top to lose "A" shape

Down tubes off the rear that tie into a rear bumper/ tire carrier.

Add an aluminum roof and a 20" LED light bar

All built out of DOM tubing of proper diameter and thickness

Just sayin...

The engineer in me says the "A" type frame with the height polaris gave us actually promotes roll over. My guess is they want the machine to keep rolling to help reduce force of impact. I'm guessing a lower cage that is flat will not roll as well. I always enjoy the custom cages though.

I think it's less about laziness and more about keeping production costs low. Those that want a different cage will buy a custom one or modify the stock one. Most will leave it as is.
Requiring a fitment for each driver would add a LOT of expense in the form of manufacturing and stocking different sized/shaped cages, a lot of paperwork, dealers keeping extra cages on hand, etc.
If they didn't stock them and the right sized cage had to be ordered, a lot of impulse walk-in sales would be lost.
It's just not feasible to do a custom fit for each driver.

Hi everyone, I've been on and off this site for a while, will be buying my ACE early next year, still don't know if I want a 570 or 900 yet.
I found this looking thru the net, it sure changes the style and looks nice to me.ACE Weld-it-Yourself Cage w/ Rear Bumper
Welcome to the forum!

Do you want "enough" speed/power, or do you want a rip-snorting beast at your command? Do you want to spend a few grand extra? But this could easily spark this thread off track. I will move the posts if that happens.

Thanks Scoundrel,
No I don't need to start that thread, I've read some of the threads about 325 vs 570, I'm about 80% sure it will be the 900:smile-new: The price difference just means it will take me longer to customize it!
