I don't have a rear mesh panel, but the picture of one shows that the primary mirror viewing area is unobstructed by seams.
But your vision would still be reduced by the mesh itself.

The primary function of a rear window is to stop dust and mud from swirling/flying into the back of the cab.
Would a mesh do a good job of that? Would a poly panel be better?

I have the rear mesh net. It is very good at keeping the dust off when u stop. It also gives you shade that a plastic window wont. The plastic will magnify the heat i should think. I really like the net. I dont have a mirror on mine.
