I know it's a little soon,, but I was wondering if anyone knew wether or not these ACEs would be street legal or not? Because in TN and many other states non- utility SxSs are street legal. Wondering if these small "SxSs" would be legal since they have steering wheels and a real seat unlike a fourwheeler?? Thanks

There's at least one or two States where this might be essentially "street" legal right out of the box, as I believe those allow traditional ATV's.

Otherwise, I would anticipate a need to add brake lights and turn signals and side mirrors... at the very least.

Even if you add these things and make it "technically" street legal, in most states you can't register it if it was originally NOT for road use (as most of these are not made for road use) -- you can't register it :(

That's exactly the case where I reside... there's no allowance for such a "conversion".

The small Japanese "Kei" trucks and purpose built small electric vehicles are allowed on restricted roads, however, if "registered".

The guy that said they cant be street legal doesnt know the law in many states! In TN and several others you can make just about anything street legal by adding the necessary safety items such as brake light, signal light, mirrors, etc....... Depends on what is required by the state! Title, insurance, safety equipment and you are good to go! There is one restriction in most states where this is legal and that is the type road and and speed limit which is usually only road where the speed limit is 45 or less.

TN COUNTRY BOY you are correct and the other two guys are wrong! Just because something is designated off road use does not mean it cant be made street legal and tagged! One needs to check with their own state to see if you can add the required items and tag it! Many states you can do this and they dont say where they are from but I bet if one went to their tag office there they would find you could make it street legal. There are some states whee they dont allow this though.
