I get my winch mount on Thursday so I am going to install the winch on Friday and was just wondering if anyone has installed one yet on their Ace and if they had any problems?

Only one minor issue for me was the supplied black battery terminal cable was about 1 inch short...outside that i had it done within a hour...
Isn't the negative and positive cable prewired from factory on it?

Where did you get your mount? What winch are you installing? I thought I read somewhere that this is prewired?

I got my mount through Promarkoffroad.com and I am installing a 3500lb winch that I bought from them also. I emailed them and they talked to Polaris and said it was there WP-1604 mount that will work on the Ace. I also though I heard the Ace is prewired for a winch.

I went to the dealer today and picked up my rear window, and he said he had a 2500 winch in stock. He said everything needed to mount and install was included for $399! YIKES.. I remembered your post and I can save a ton of money if I order the same mount you did, and go with this Engo USA - Model E3000. I own a 10k version on my Jeep, and it has worked great. They get very good reviews as well.

Im certainly no expert in this field (i did mount and wire my Jeep w/ no problems), but I was wondering if anyone cane see any mounting issues with this combination?

I was suppose to get my mount yesterday but UPS changed delivery day on me until tomorrow which I didn't think they delivered on Saturdays. If I get it tomorrow I will let you know if the mount fits ok. I'll try and take some pictures along the way as I'm installing it.

That would be awesome. Thanks. I just ordered mount from Promark, and 3000lb superwinch. A new project for next weekend.

How did you hook up the switch? I see that most of the ATV winch's include a switch for the handle bars.
MotoAlliance sells a switch that will fit into one of the holes already in dash next to 4-wheel drive switch. I used it on the 3500 lb unit but did have to switch the wires as it ran backwards. Other than that direct plug in. I did not use the remote hand switch, but probably could have wired it in too. I think it is $40k on their website. If RZR forum member they offer a discount. Not sure if they offer one for this forum too.
meant $40 not $40K, everything in this sport so expensive I guess I automatically added the K, LOL

The WP-1604 mount does work on the Ace ! I had to make sure it fit but it's so cold here I think I'm going to finish the rest on a warmer day. Still haven't found out if the power cables are factory installed up front yet....anyone know if they are, I haven't seen them yet!

Your about a week ahead of me. I have not looked at anything up there yet. Will you have to modify/Cut the front panel to cover it up?
I am trying to cut the front panel now but I think they might have a special panel made for it when you mount a winch. There is going to be a lot left once I cut it.

It's a totally different front bottom piece....you can tell by the way it sticks out on top to clear the winch motor end. Guess I'll have to wait until they sell just that piece. Since I've gone this far on cutting this one I will continue and see what happens.
There is no way to cut the original one...you need the special one that bumps out to clear the winch motor. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see if they have it available to order.

Wow -- That's frustrating huh? I know its new and all, but it would have been nice to have this information public. I wonder if it is included within the Polaris winch kit?? The dealer told me the other day that everything needed to install the winch was included in their version. I decided on my past few orders to keep everything oem for this reason, but saving a buck prevailed in this one. Let us know what you find out. I will also do some digging.
It is included in the Polaris kit but I just emailed Polaris and asked if there is a part number for it. It still will be cheaper than the Polaris kit at $399 for the 2500lb and $529 for the 3500lb kit. I'll have about half the cost as the Polaris 2500lb kit and I'll have a 3500lb winch on mine. I priced a new original plastic fascia and it was only $26 if I needed to buy a new one.
Here is another option for the winch switch!!
